When we started GloBird Energy a few years ago, we were determined to make an impact on energy retailing, if only by creating a more competitive environment.
We wanted to offer the best value possible for as many people as we could, knowing that was the best way to keep all our competitors – even the big boys – on their toes.
Our determination to always offer exceptional value electricity and gas rates – largely by keeping our cost of doing business as low as is practical – has definitely been noticed.
We have been extremely gratified both by the recognition from the media and the number of customers who have signed up with us and recommended us to their friends.
Doing the best we can
We have said from the start that we might not be able to provide the absolute best rate to every single customer. The nature of the business is that some usage patterns coupled with some locations, network providers, tariff types, and so on make the equation work differently.
The various parameters are different across Victoria, with our five different distribution networks, let alone when you add New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia to our footprint.
But none of that changes our goal or our equation, so we remain confident that we will be among the best offers on the market now and into the future.
We’ve been getting a few pats on the back
For the third year in a row, the Mozo Experts Choice Energy Awards recognised GloBird in multiple categories, this year in multiple states.
As Mozo noted, GloBird was the only retailer to snag awards in both the residential electricity and gas awards categories in 2020.
Meanwhile, Channel 9’s recent report (November 30th) determined that GloBird was the best value energy retailer in Victoria and South Australia.
Canstar Blue also recently updated its Victorian price comparison table, and we’re still on top.
We can say with certainty that if you look at an energy comparison website and GloBird Energy is not at or near the top, they probably haven’t included us.
We’re not about to slow down
The more customers we get, the stronger our business becomes. And that means we’re in a better position to work on ways to bring our costs down and pass on those savings.
With all of the things that have impacted the energy market over the past few years, including the closure of coal-fired power stations, greater penetration of rooftop solar arrays, more large-scale investment in renewable energy sources, changes in policy and regulations, weather events, and the COVID-19 pandemic, we have faced some challenges and had to deal with things outside our control.
Through it all, our commitment has been unwavering.
We are still 100 per cent focused on providing as many consumers as possible with excellent value and great customer service from our small Melbourne office.
