Consolidating our partnership with Anker SOLIX
Just a couple of months ago, GloBird Energy formed a strategic Virtual Power Plant (VPP) partnership with Anker SOLIX.
Anker SOLIX is the division of Anker Innovations that focuses on residential energy storage solutions, built on the philosophy that technology is a vital piece of the energy landscape.
Our collaboration was born from a shared ambition to provide Australian homeowners with reliable solutions and true energy independence.

Reinforcing the basis of the partnership
As an energy retailer, most of our marketing team don’t get the opportunity to have much direct interaction with our customers. When Anker invited us to visit their Chadstone showroom, we thought we might learn a thing or two by chatting to prospective customers in person.
Alongside the Anker staff, the GloBird team talked to people about our shared belief that Australian battery owners deserve more than a generic energy plan bolted onto their hardware.
That led to discussions about how GloBird had designed a plan specifically for households with battery storage, our ZEROHERO plan.
Our time in the Anker store reinforced what we’ve believed since we started developing ZEROHERO: a battery is only as good as the plan it’s paired with.
ZEROHERO makes a lot of sense
As we’ve seen previously, once the people we spoke with understood how ZEROHERO is structured around battery ownership, you could almost see a lightbulb moment for them.
That’s because it’s an easy thing to explain. ZEROHERO is purpose-built for households with solar and battery storage, structured around four key benefits that reward smart energy behaviour:
– Free grid electricity for 3 hours a day between 11 am–2 pm, including charging your battery and running your home appliances.
– $1 rebate each day when you avoid grid usage during the 3-hour evening peak.
– 15c feed-in tariff for the first 15kWh you export to the grid during the evening peak.
– $1 per kWh exported during wholesale electricity price spikes.
GloBird x Anker SOLIX also makes good sense
As part of the Anker SOLIX VPP integration, X1 customers can activate GloBird’s VPP services directly through the Anker app. There’s no need for a technician and no new hardware required, meaning ZERO hassle.
Homeowners set their own backup reserve levels and choose when to participate in VPP events, so control stays firmly with them.

It was an extremely worthwhile exercise
The whole experience with Anker SOLIX has been so positive and rewarding that we can’t wait to do more of this sort of thing, so keep an eye out for further Globird x battery maker collaborations in the future. We’ll keep you posted, of course.
