My New Rates 2022
My New Rates 2022
Why do energy rates change each year?
We need to adjust your energy rates in-line with the latest network and wholesale costs. These have changed since we last set your prices. We usually do this once a year. The good news is that this means you shouldn’t see any more changes to your energy rates until 2023.
Our policy has always been to send a written notification whenever we change our rates to give our valued customers with as much notice as possible. Our blog explains more about what’s driving energy prices in Australia.

Why have my rates changed so soon after I joined you?
The length of time your price will remain the same depends on when you joined us. A customer who joined one month after the last price change, will stay on the same rates for 11 months. Likewise, customers who join us later may see a rate change sooner. The new rates will likely stay fixed for another twelve months.
Why has my tariff changed?
Along with a price change, some customers may also have noted that their tariff is changing. For example, you may have been on a flat rate tariff and now have a Three Rate tariff or a Demand tariff. The network distributor in your area is responsible for setting your tariff. They periodically adjust tariffs to help manage demand and for other operational purposes. Why do GloBird bill monthly?
Smaller, more regular billing makes managing bills easier. Importantly, we always use the actual reads to make 100% sure you only ever pay for the energy you consume. Not getting a bill for months means energy users are kept in the dark, blissfully unaware of their energy consumption, until they get a large bill covering a long period. Is GloBird still the best provider for me?
GloBird proudly won Mozo’s consumers choice awards four years running – in 2017, 2018, 2019 and again in 2020. Better still, we recently won the 2021 Canstar award for “outstanding value” for Vic, NSW, and SA.
If you’re with GloBird, you are with an independent, award winning, and local energy provider. We don’t have lock-in contracts or exit fees, instead we offer competitive rates to keep our valued customers loyal.
With so many offers on the market, we can’t make the claim that we are always the cheapest, but our rates have commonly and consistently been among the best rates on the market. To do this, we concentrate on the costs we can control, we keep our operating costs to a minimum, and our margins are razor thin. However, we can’t control the underlying cost of energy.
What can I do to save more?
