Why do solar rates change in July?
Like all energy companies, we need to adjust your energy rates in-line with network and wholesale costs. These cost have changed since we last set your prices. Our policy has always been to send a written notification whenever we change our rates to give our valued customers with as much notice as possible.
Why do solar rates change in July?
The state government set the minimum feed-in tariff each year. This usually occurs on the 1st of July each year. You can read more about the government’s latest decision here.
What drives energy prices in Victoria?
Victoria is part of the National Energy Market (NEM). This is a wholesale market where energy producers sell their power, and retailers buy it. The underling cost of energy is determined by supply and demand. The wholesale cost of electricity has changed since we last set your prices.
How often do you change rates and prices?
Normally we review our rates around December or January, however solar customers may receive a change in July when the state government reset the solar feed in rates. You can read more about the government’s latest decision here.
