GloBird Energy has just launched SOLAR PLUS, that pays rooftop solar customers a 14c/kilowatt-hour (kWh) solar feed-in tariff for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, almost three times the 5-6c/kWh currently offered by most Victorian retailers.

The legal minimum solar feed-in tariff set by the Victorian Government is currently 5 cents but is set to rise on 1 July to about 11c/kWh.


What is a solar feed-in tariff?

A solar feed-in tariff is a rate paid for surplus electricity fed back into the electricity grid from a designated renewable electricity generation source such as a rooftop solar panel system or wind turbine.
